To confirmMost people who ring us have already had a quote from one of the national companies and had a bit of a shock. So here is where we stand.
Our sliding wardrobes start at £999. What you actually pay comes down to how wide the run is, which doors you pick and how the inside is fitted out. A single alcove costs a good deal less than a wall-to-wall run with drawers and shoe racks behind it.

The national companies do not make your wardrobes. They sell you a design, order it in and add their margin on top, and you pay for the showroom, the advertising and the salesman's commission as well. We cut and build every door in our own workshop in Cilfynydd. There is nobody between us and you, which is the whole reason we can start at £999 and still use decent materials.

A door that does not need room to open
A hinged wardrobe door needs about two feet of clear floor in front of it, and in most bedrooms that is the gap you walk through to get to the bed. Sliding doors take none of it. It is the reason a sliding wardrobe fits in rooms where a hinged one never would.

A freestanding wardrobe stops short of the ceiling and leaves a space at one end, and you lose the lot. Ours run floor to ceiling and wall to wall, so the dead space above your head becomes somewhere to keep the things you only need twice a year.

Sloped ceilings, chimney breasts, alcoves, a floor that runs downhill. We build every unit to the room it is going in, so the bits other companies price around are usually where we find you the most storage. If you have an attic room with a slope and you have been told nothing fits, that is exactly the job we like.

Long hanging for coats and dresses, double hanging where you have more shirts than gowns, drawers for the things that never fold properly, a rack so your shoes are not in a heap at the bottom. What Actually Happens When We Come Round
Letting someone into your house to sell you something is nobody's idea of a good evening, so here is exactly how ours goes.
We turn up when we said we would. We measure the room properly, including the bits that are out of square, because in most houses around here something is. We talk through what you want to store and where you want the doors to open.
Then we draw the room up in 3D so you can see the wardrobes in your own bedroom before anything is made. Then we work out your price. One figure, covering the wardrobes, the fitting and everything in between.

Geraint started SP in 1984 and still runs it, now with his son Josh. The wardrobes are made in our own workshop in South Wales, which means we are not waiting on a supplier and we can put something right ourselves if it needs putting right.
You will deal with the same handful of people from the first phone call to the day the doors go on. That is the part the national companies cannot really do.
