How a Door Gets Made
Most companies selling you a fitted wardrobe have never made one. The design gets sent off, a container arrives some weeks later, and somebody comes to screw it to your wall. Ours are made about twenty minutes from where you live.

Cutting
Board gets cut to the measurements taken in your bedroom. Every door is made for one room and one room only.

Edging
The edges are finished so nothing chips and nothing swells.

Glass and mirror
Mirror and glass panels go in by hand. Every glass door we make is safety-backed to British standards.

Frames and runners
The frame goes together and the runners go on. This is the part that decides whether your doors still slide properly in ten years.

Fitted in your room
Installed in a day, ready to use that evening. The same doors we cut in the workshop, now sliding in your room.
There Is Nobody Between Us and You
When you buy a fitted wardrobe from one of the national companies, you are not buying it from the people who made it. A designer visits, the order goes off to a factory, and some weeks later a fitter you have never met arrives with a van full of parts. Nobody in that chain has seen your bedroom except the first person, and they were paid commission on the sale.
Every link in that chain takes something. The showroom on the retail park has rent. The advertising has a budget. The salesman has a target. All of it is in the price you were quoted, before a single board has been cut.
We cut, build and finish the sliding wardrobes we make at Cilfynydd, and the person who measures your room is the person who owns the company. There is no factory, no middleman and no commission. We are one of the very few sliding wardrobe manufacturers left in South Wales who still make everything themselves.
That is the whole reason we can start at £999 and still use decent materials. We are not cutting quality to get there. We are just not paying for a chain of people between us and you.

We Cut Costs, Not Corners
Sliding wardrobes used to have a reputation, and not a good one. Doors that jumped off the runners, board that swelled the first time a radiator leaked, glass that was never really meant to be in a bedroom.

Nothing arrives from overseas on a container, which means nothing turns up damaged, late, or not quite what was ordered.The savings come from having nobody in the middle. Not from the materials.

Geraint started the business in 1984 and still runs it. He is usually the one who comes out to measure your room, and he is the one who decides whether a job is right before it goes anywhere near the workshop, wherever you are across South Wales.

Why We Do Not Have a Showroom on a Retail Park
Companies with a unit on a retail park have rent, rates and staff to pay for, and it comes out of what you pay for your wardrobes. We would rather put it into the workshop and come to you instead.
