Solid panel sliding wardrobe doors colour matched to the walls of a South Wales bedroom

Solid Panel Sliding Wardrobe Doors, Made to Measure

Matched to your room in a range of colours and finishes. Built in our own South Wales workshop and fitted in a day, from £999.

The Wardrobes You Stop Noticing

Mirror and glass both announce themselves. That is the point of them, and for a lot of rooms it is exactly right. Solid doors do the opposite. Matched to the wall colour, a full height run stops reading as furniture and starts reading as part of the room, and after a fortnight you stop seeing it at all.

That matters more than it sounds in a bedroom. A wall of mirror is a lot to wake up to for some people, and clear glass means the inside is always on show. Solid doors give you neither. Everything is behind a plain front and the room stays calm.

It is also the widest choice of the three. Colours, wood effects and finishes, so the doors can pick up the walls, the flooring, or the furniture that is already in there rather than fighting any of it.

If the room is already bright and you are not relying on the doors to move light around, solid is usually the one people are happiest with a year later.

What Is Actually in the Door

The reputation cheap fitted wardrobes earned was built on thin board that swelled the first time a radiator leaked and doors that dropped out of true within a couple of years. The front of a solid door is the part you see, but the board behind it is the part that decides whether it is still square in ten years.

To confirmWe buy our board ourselves and cut every door in our own workshop, so we know what has gone into it. Nothing arrives flat-packed from overseas. [TO CONFIRM — the specific board and material sourcing.]

Behind the doors, the run can be fitted out with internal drawers, shelving and hanging space to suit what you own — see how we do that on our internal storage page.

Where Solid Earns Its Place

Rooms that already have plenty of light

You are not asking the doors to brighten anything, so you are free to choose on looks alone.

Bedrooms where you would rather not see yourself

Not everyone wants a wall of mirror opposite the bed, and that is a perfectly good reason to choose solid.

Rooms with a lot going on

Patterned wallpaper, a feature wall, a busy carpet. Solid doors matched to the quietest colour in the room calm the whole thing down.

Anywhere you want the storage to vanish

Matched to the wall, a full height run reads as a wall rather than as wardrobes.

Questions About Solid Doors

To confirm[TO CONFIRM — whether colour matching to a specific paint colour is offered.]

To confirm[TO CONFIRM]

To confirmLess than you would think. The finish is hard wearing and there is no glass to smudge, which is why solid is the lowest maintenance of the three. [TO CONFIRM — any specific finish durability the client wants to state.]

To confirmSliding wardrobes start at £999 whichever doors you choose. What moves the price is the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out rather than the door type. [TO CONFIRM — whether there is any real price difference between door types.]

Yes, the run is built to the roofline the same as any other door type.

Solid Panel Doors From £999

Sliding wardrobes start at £999 whichever doors you choose. What you pay comes down to the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out. We make everything ourselves at Cilfynydd, so there is nobody in the middle adding a margin.

Still deciding? Compare it with mirror sliding doors and glass sliding doors on our sliding wardrobes comparison, and plan what goes inside the wardrobe.
