Fitted Wardrobe Interiors, Built Around What You Own

Rails, drawers, shelves and shoe storage, laid out for your things rather than to a standard plan. Part of every wardrobe we build.

The Metre of Nothing in Your Wardrobe

Open a standard wardrobe and you will usually find one rail at head height, a shelf above it, and about a metre of empty air underneath the clothes. Shirts and jackets are short. The space below them does nothing at all, in every wardrobe, in most houses.

Put a second rail in that gap and you have doubled what the same width holds, without touching the room. That is before you have added a single drawer.

Doing nothing
What you have now.
Still doing nothing
Add a second rail and you have doubled it.
Now every inch of it works.

We Ask What You Actually Own

Most fitted wardrobes are laid out to a standard plan and you fit your life around it afterwards. We do it the other way round. At the design visit we ask what is going in there before we draw anything.

How much of your clothing hangs and how much folds. Whether two people are sharing it. How many pairs of shoes there really are, honestly. Whether there is sports kit, a hobby, work gear, or a suitcase that needs somewhere better than the top of the wardrobe. Then the inside gets drawn round the answers.

It is the part of the job that makes the difference a year later, and it is the part that gets skipped when a wardrobe is ordered from a catalogue.

Two People, One Wardrobe

A wardrobe shared by two people is the one that causes arguments, usually because it was laid out as one long rail and whoever hangs more has quietly taken over. Splitting the run properly, with the hanging heights set to what each person actually owns, solves it at the design stage rather than afterwards.

Questions About Interiors

To confirm[TO CONFIRM — what internal fittings are included as standard and what costs extra.]

To confirm[TO CONFIRM — whether rails and shelves are adjustable after fitting.]

Yes. Long hanging is one of the first things we set out, because it is the one thing a standard wardrobe usually gets wrong.

That is what the top boxes and the full height sections are for. Tell us what they are at the design visit and they get a place.

Built In From £999

The inside is part of every wardrobe we build, not an upgrade. Sliding wardrobes start at £999 and what you pay comes down to the width of the run and how the inside is laid out. We make everything ourselves at Cilfynydd, so there is nobody in the middle adding a margin.

Still deciding? Compare it with mirror sliding doors and glass sliding doors on our sliding wardrobes comparison, and plan what goes solid panel doors.
