Glass Sliding Wardrobe Doors, Made to Measure

Clear or frosted, built in our own South Wales workshop and fitted in a day, from £999.

Clear or Frosted

Glass is the door type where the choice is not really about the glass, it is about how tidy you want to be. Clear glass puts everything behind it on show. That is either the whole appeal or a permanent low-level obligation, depending on the person, and it is worth being honest with yourself about which one you are.

Where clear works is a room where the inside is worth looking at. A well laid out run with folded shelves, matching hangers and a bit of discipline looks superb behind clear glass, and it makes the whole wall feel lighter because the eye carries on through it rather than stopping.

Frosted gives you most of the lightness without the obligation. You get the same soft, modern wall, the room still feels open, and nobody can see that the bottom shelf is where the ironing lives. For most bedrooms it is the easier choice and it is the one more people go for.

Either way, every glass door we make is safety-backed to British standards.

Safety-Backed as Standard

Every glass door we make is safety-backed, so if it is ever broken it holds together instead of coming down in pieces. Glass in a bedroom, in a house with children in it, is not somewhere to be taking chances, and it is not something anybody thinks to ask about while they are choosing a finish.

Where Glass Earns Its Place

Modern and minimal rooms

Glass suits a room with clean lines better than any other door. It reads as a wall of light rather than as furniture.

Rooms where mirror would be too much

Some people do not want to see themselves from the bed. Frosted glass gives you the lightness without the reflection.

Dressing rooms and walk-ins

Clear glass comes into its own where the inside is meant to be seen and the room is already organised.

Rooms with good natural light

Glass carries light along a wall rather than bouncing it back, which suits a room that already has plenty.

Questions About Glass Doors

Honestly, yes. Clear glass shows what is behind it, so it suits people who like an organised wardrobe and it will nag at people who do not. Frosted is the answer if you would rather not think about it.

You see shapes and colour rather than detail, so the wall stays soft and light without anything being on display.

Less than mirror, more than a painted door. Glass cleaner and a soft cloth, occasionally.

Yes, every glass door we make is safety-backed so it holds together rather than shattering.

Glass Doors From £999

Sliding wardrobes start at £999 whichever doors you choose, glass included. What you pay comes down to the width of the run and how the inside is fitted out. We make everything ourselves at Cilfynydd, so there is nobody in the middle adding a margin.

Still deciding? Compare it with mirror sliding doors and solid panel doors on our sliding wardrobes comparison, and plan what goes inside the wardrobe.
