From the Valleys Down to the Coast
Bridgend covers a lot of ground and the houses change completely as you move across it. Up the Llynfi and Ogmore valleys towards Maesteg and Nantymoel you get the terraces, narrow rooms and lower ceilings, with a chimney breast eating into the one wall you wanted to use.
The town itself and the estates around Brackla and Broadlands are mostly post-war and modern. Square rooms, lower ceilings again, and a lot of houses where the main bedroom is a decent size but the second is barely big enough for a bed and a chest of drawers. That second bedroom is where sliding doors change the most, because a hinged door needs floor space that room does not have.
Down towards Porthcawl and Newton the stock is different again, with more bungalows, dormers and coastal properties where the bedrooms are often long and narrow rather than square.
Whichever of those you have got, the run is measured to the room rather than ordered from a catalogue, so an awkward wall is a detail rather than a reason not to bother.

The workshop is at Cilfynydd, just outside Pontypridd, about half an hour from Bridgend. Everything we fit in the county was cut and built there.

Your doors are built at our own workshop rather than ordered from a factory and shipped over. The person who measures your room works at the place they are made.
Our own fitter, not a subcontractor
Fitting day is one of our own team, not somebody handed your address that morning. If something needs adjusting we come back ourselves.
No showroom markup
Companies with retail park showrooms pass on the rent, the advertising and the commission. We make ours ourselves, which is the whole reason we start at £999.

That is usually the room that gains the most. A hinged door needs two feet of clear floor before it will open and a small second bedroom has not got it. Sliding doors take none.
A mirrored run on the long wall widens the room considerably to the eye. It is the most common thing we fit in the coastal properties.
