This is the question everybody asks first and almost nobody in this trade answers on their website. The national companies will not put a price anywhere near their site, which is deliberate, because the number only ever gets mentioned after somebody has been sitting in your living room for two hours. We would rather just tell you.
Our sliding wardrobes start at £999. That is a real starting price for a real wardrobe, not a stripped-out figure designed to get somebody through your door.
What actually moves the price
Three things, in order of how much they matter. The width of the run, because a wall-to-wall run in a master bedroom uses roughly twice the material of a single alcove. The doors you choose, though the difference between mirror, glass and solid is smaller than most people expect. And the inside, which is where the range is widest, because a run with drawers, shoe racks and pull-out rails is a different job from one with a rail and a shelf.
What does not move it much is the shape of your room. An awkward wall, a chimney breast or a sloping ceiling takes more working out at the design stage but not much more material, and we do not charge extra for a room being difficult.
A rough guide
Want a proper number for your room? Book a free design visit and we will measure up and price it, with nothing to pay either way.
Why the national companies quote what they do
When you buy from one of the big names, you are not buying from the people who made it. A designer visits on commission, the order goes to a factory, and a fitter you have never met arrives some weeks later. Every link in that chain takes something, and the showroom on the retail park has rent to pay before a single board has been cut.
We make ours at Cilfynydd, just outside Pontypridd, and the person who measures your bedroom works at the place your doors are built. There is nobody in the middle. That is the whole reason we can start where we do and still use decent materials.
Watch for the discount
If a quote starts at six thousand and drops to three and a half by the end of the evening, the first number was never real. A price that only exists tonight is a sales technique, not a discount. Ours is worked out from the room and the materials, and it is the same on Thursday as it is on Saturday.
